Burnt Store Marina Country Club: Modern Golf Course Map

A serene study in water and turf, this modern map of Burnt Store Marina Country Club captures the essence of Southwest Florida golf with quiet elegance. The course stretches in a broad, horizontal sweep, its emerald fairways set like ribbons against a network of pale-blue lakes and channels. Presented on a warm, off‑white ground with refined typography below, the composition feels architectural and balanced — a contemporary piece of wall art that still preserves the rhythm and strategy of the layout it celebrates.

From left to right, the routing reveals its character in confident strokes: a near-vertical corridor on the far left, long diagonals that slide from the lower-left toward the center, and a gathering of narrower, upright fairways to the right. Water is the constant companion — not just as broad ponds, but as winding connectors and sinuous margins that nudge lines of play, tighten landing areas, and frame greens. Bunkers appear sparingly yet purposefully, their soft, sandy forms adding moments of tension at fairway shoulders and water’s edge.

The central-right portion becomes a visual crescendo, with a tall, graceful lake and a striking lower-central enclosure of water that reads almost like a lagoon — a natural focal point around which holes turn and separate. Small olive notes hint at pockets of vegetation and land bridges, heightening the Florida wetland sensibility and giving each hole its own island-like identity. The negative space is intentional and generous, letting the interplay of blues, greens, and pale sand breathe; seen as a whole, the silhouette is distinctive and wonderfully memorable.

Dated 1981 beneath the club’s name and location, this piece nods to the course’s heritage while feeling decisively modern. Built from high-resolution mapping sources and refined by hand, it honors the exacting shapes of fairways, greens, bunkers, and water with a clean, contemporary touch. For members, locals, winter visitors, and anyone who has dreamed of navigating its water-threaded fairways, it’s a graceful way to commemorate rounds played, trips shared, and a lasting connection to Punta Gorda’s coastal golf scene.
